Spent the day…
Spent the day at the museum with no governess. It was lovely. Except I could find no sign of that scritching noise. Will have to look harder.
An Introduction–of sorts
Hurrah! My governess quit today! She finally got tired of my antics, as she called them. But really, they weren’t antics at all, but an investigation. I’d discovered an odd scritching noise coming from somewhere in the Egyptian exhibit. At first, I held out hope that it might be a mouse, or even a rat. But when my cat, Isis, heard the noise, she turned tail and ran. Never a good sign. Before I had the chance to investigate further, Father came and got me so we could go home. Which is just as well because I didn’t want to be anywhere near that noise after dark, not until I had a chance to determine what it was.
On the way home, Father said he would set about finding me a new governess as soon as possible. I’m hoping he’ll forget. He usually does.
