New Year Greetings

Hello again. Just thought I’d pop in with a couple of updates and announcements. First, Theodosia and the Serpents of Chaos will be available in paperback beginning in May.

Secondly, in honor of the upcoming paperback, I’ve posted some reader discussion questions for you to use for either a book report or a class discussion. (Please don’t answer the questions here! We wouldn’t want to spoil the book for anyone who hasn’t finished it yet!)

Also, there is an official publication date for Theodosia and the Staff of Osiris: November 1, 2008. As the date draws closer, I’ll post some excerpts and have new contests!

    Hello!
Currently I have to do a mystery book report due on February 8th, and, frankly, I haven’t even started! But, I chose TatSoC to do it, so I’ll have fun. The discussion questions won’t really help me, sorry, because the teachers planned the entire thing out and there’s barely any room for creativity.

I’m glad that there’s an official date! I get annoyed when dates change around frequently.

Ah well, not much to post about! Will check again soon!

hey, last time i checked, twenty million people said that they had performed Seussical, Jr., so guess what? I’m the lemon-tasting marsupial (in other words, the SOUR KANGAROO)!!! actually, there are 3 sour kangaroos, but i’m one of them, so there!

Hope to here from Theo and everyone SOON!!!

    Paige : ) : ) : ) : )

    Hello everyone!
I need help from you guys on my book report. I have to list the genre of TatSoc, but I’m not quite sure what it is. Some people say adventure, others say mystery. Still others say action. Please clear me up on this!
    Thank you!

  4. Kyra Says:

Oh, yes, please respond by FEBRUARY 7TH or I am dead.

  5. Kyra Says:

Oh, dear. I am so sorry to be bothering you guys again. I need to know about how much time passes by in the book. Two weeks? A month? A year? Please tell. Thank you so much.

    Again, “due” by Feb. 7th.

    Cheers!
    K

Hello, Paige! Not sure what a Suessical Jr. is, but it’s good to hear from you again!

Kyra, how lovely that you’re doing a book report on TatSoC! As for genre, I think I would call it fantasy, don’t you? Or fantasy adventure? Because of all that black magic.

As for the time passing in the book, well… the adventure started on Dec. 17, 1906 and I returned to England in the middle of February 1907. So that makes it approximately three months. The book doesn’t mention the exact date of my return. However, I do remember the exact date that Wigmere gave me my Brotherhood of the Chosen Keepers ring, and that was February 13, 1907.

    Hope that helps!

  7. Kyra Says:

Thanks so much! My mom is bugging me to finish the report now, so I’ll finish it now. Thanks again!

    I hate double-posting…
oh well. (sigh) Anyway, I need to summarize the book up in less than 10 sentences (you know, with basically the main events). But I can’t! Too many things happen–it’s like they expect us to read Magic Treehouse books. (Annie and Jack go into a treehouse! Wow!)
Sorry, I get all hyped up when I do this.
Anywya, I was wondering if any of you had any tips….?
    Thanks forever!

  9. Kyra Says:

Sorry. Anyway, not anywa. (triple post=horror)

  10. Paige Says:

Yeah, those Magic Tree house books are so dumb. and yet, everyone in my third grade read them all. luckily, we’re not allowed to review them in I.D.B.C. (whenever i write I.D.B.C, i mean Ink Drinkers Book Club) also, the I.D.B.C. has the same name as a book series that is as small and little-kiddish as Magic Tree House (wow, look! an ink-drinking vampire!) yeah, you get the point…
    Paige :-) :-) :-)

  11. Paige Says:

    please write back Theo+others…
    Paige :-)

  12. Kyra Says:

I’m in fifth grade–I don’t think anyone in my grade has read them all. My sister, though, is crazy about them and read them all. And she’s in second grade. Scary.
Oh, to be eight again… Ha ha, sorry.

I’m done my book report on T1! (Theodosia #1) I liked the cover a lot (you had to make a cover for the report). I wrote the title in yellow marker and put it on a dark green paper, then I printed out a picture of a wedjat eye and put it on with the letters. Then I drew pictures, pyramids, “Egypt” and “Cairo” and “London”, etc.

    Thanks for your help!

  13. Theodosia Says:

Paige, I haven’t read the Magic Tree House books, but I do know that my younger brother Henry’s favorite books often seem silly to me. Father says I mustn’t tell Henry that, however, for fear it will discourage him from reading at all.

Congratulations Kyra on finishing your book report! Your cover sounds lovely!

  14. Paige Says:

no, i’m in 5th now. when i was in 3rd grade, that’s when everyone started reading them.

    Paige :) ;) :) ;)

  15. Paige Says:

    -double post-aaack!-

The font that is used on the TatSoC cover is Blackadder ITC. it’s on Windows XP, and you can probably just buy it online if your computer doesn’t already have it…

Paige :( -sad face for the DOUBLE POST OF DOOM!

P.S. I’m going skiing on monday. no school, it’s a “teacher training day.” hooray for training teachers!

  16. Theodosia Says:

Hurray on your day off, Paige! A day without lessons is a lovely day indeed.

And how very clever of you to have figured out what font is on the cover of the book! Are you a future graphic artist?

  17. Kaitlyn Says:

    Hullo-
Theodosia, didn’t I tell you I would be in almost every subject? Told you!

    I just LOVE getting replys!

    Sincerly,
    Kailtyn, age 9

  18. Kaitlyn Says:

    IS ANY ONE OUT THERE?

    Sincerly,
    Kaitlyn, age 9

  19. Paige Says:

Yes, i am a future graphic artist, although this bit of info was given to me by Shayda.
    oops!

  20. Theodosia Says:

Yeay! Paige is back. Kaitlyn will be so pleased…

  21. Kaitlyn Says:

    I am.

    :)

  22. Kaitlyn Says:

    No, I’m serious.
