The New Contest – A Word Search
Hello my dears! I am terribly sorry to have been so silent for so long! As Kaitlyn said, it is high time for a new contest. It will be hard, I’ll kid you not. It’s a word search. But because you all are such a clever lot, I’m not going to tell you the words! There are 27 if them, and they can all be found in THEODOSIA AND THE SERPENTS OF CHAOS.
Whoever finds the closest to 27 words will be the winner. Ah, and what will you win, you ask? A brand, spanking new, advance copy of THEODOSIA AND THE STAFF OF OSIRIS!
Edited to add: The contest will end Sunday, October 19, at midnight. On Monday, October 20, I’ll announce how we’ll determine the winner.

Yes, Kiki. It does have backwards and diagonal words. Good question.
Also, it will probably be easiest for you to work on if you cut and past the whole thing to a word processing program. Just be sure and keep the font in Courier, as that’s the only one that keeps all the letters lined up straight.
Good luck! If people find it too hard, I’ll begin posting clues in a few days. Also, don’t post the words you find until the very end, otherwise you’ll make it easier for others.
I supposed I need to come up with an end date for the contest, too. I’ll be back with that…

Oh, okay.
I’ve already found 3 words, but is is possible that you could find words that you aren’t supposed to find? Like in other wordsearches with lists, sometimes there are words like “pots” and the list is about pets.

The only thing I’ve fond so far is Valley of the kings, but I’m going to print the puzzle out and find as much as I can.
Oh NO. The Staff of Osiris? I’m not so sure that if I don’t win, I’ll be patient enough to wait until November. Oh, dear.

You probably shouldn’t tell words because someone might cheat. I already found that word which is good but someone might have not.

Would it be smart to work silently for a while, just so we don’t intimidate all the others? If I only had five of the words found so far, I would be feeling very discouraged…and the contest isn’t a race. If we have more than one winner, we’ll have a drawing.

I wanted to let you all know that I am going to be making some changes to this blog in a few days.
It was originally intended to be a place where readers who enjoyed the Theodosia books could come and ask questions or have a book related discussion. In the last few months, it’s been more of a chat room for a handful of you dedicated readers, which has been lovely, but not really what it was supposed to be. There have been tons of “I’m bored” type comments that don’t really add much to the discussion. With the second book coming out, many new readers will be finding their way to this blog and might feel a bit put off by some of that sort of chat, and they might not be willing to wade through nearly a hundred comments to get to the more meaty stuff.
I’m really thrilled so many of you loyal readers have enjoyed hanging out here and hope that if you’ve formed friendships with other loyal readers, you’ll keep in touch off line. And as always, if you have questions about the books or of me, ask away, but I do want to get away from some of the “I’m bored, someone entertain me,” type comments.
